It also restricts access to dollar-backed stablecoins, which Zhao said would be the only thing that could change.<\/p>\n<p>SEC Chair Gensler reiterates that \u2018most crypto are securities\u2019 before US banking committee<\/p>\n<p>The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman Gary Gensler said Sept. 15 that crypto intermediaries, like centralized and decentralized exchanges, would have to register with the SEC.<\/p>\n<p>He said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirms operating in other well-regulated markets that want to enter the crypto market (would have) to do so in compliance with time-tested investor protection rules, (while) existing crypto security intermediaries need to do so in compliance with investor protection rules as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gensler reiterated his belief that most crypto assets are securities in his testimony before the U.S. Senate Banking Committee.<\/p>\n<p>US Treasury Department blacklists Bitcoin addresses linked to Iran ransomware group<\/p>\n<p>The U.S Department of Treasury detected seven Bitcoin wallets that are linked to the members of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Afterward, he converted these funds to Monero (XMR) using the crypto exchange Bisq.<\/p>\n<p>New York museum plans to buy NFTs from art auction proceeds<\/p>\n<p>The New York Museum of Modern art (MoMA) is looking to buy NFTs from the William S Paley Foundation\u2019s auction, according to <em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em>.
