Hal Finney, the first person to receive a Bitcoin\u00a0transaction from none other than Satoshi Nakamoto would have celebrated his birthday Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Running bitcoin<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 halfin (@halfin) January 11, 2009<\/p>\n<p>On Bitcointalk.org, Hal Finney explained that when Satoshi first released the software, he \u201cgrabbed it right away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think I was the first person besides Satoshi to run Bitcoin. I mined block 70-something, and I was the recipient of the first Bitcoin transaction when Satoshi sent ten coins to me as a test.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The wallet address for the 10 Bitcoin transaction tells the story of BTC surging to 10 Bitcoin in value in 2009 (roughly $400,000) before Bitcoin had a dollar-denominated value.<\/p>\n<p>Finney&#8217;s wallet address which received 10 Bitcoin in 2009.
