Koduri explained that the company expects its circuit innovations will deliver \u201c1000x better performance per watt\u201d than today\u2019s GPU or SHA256-based mining equipment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Intel to Engage in Blockchain Technology<\/h2>\n<p>On Friday, the senior vice president of Intel\u2019s Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group, Raja M. Koduri, published a blog post that discussed blockchain technology and the \u201cnew custom compute group.\u201d Koduri explained that Intel is fully aware that there are some blockchains that \u201ctranslates to an immense amount of energy.\u201d The Intel executive said that the company\u2019s customers are asking for \u201cscalable and sustainable solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIntel will engage and promote an open and secure blockchain ecosystem and will help advance this technology in a responsible and sustainable way,\u201d Koduri\u2019s blog post explains.<\/p>\n<p>Intel\u2019s Koduri further added that the company\u2019s first product will ship later in 2022. The first firms that will receive Intel\u2019s blockchain accelerator include Jack Dorsey\u2019s Block (formerly Square), Argo Blockchain, and Griid. Koduri remarked that Intel Labs has been focused on \u201creliable cryptography, hashing techniques and ultra-low voltage circuits\u201d for decades.
