She noted:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegulation cannot be done by any one country singularly, it has to be a collective action because technology doesn\u2019t group any borders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related:<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>India cooperates with IMF on crypto consultation paper<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This comes after the news that Sitharaman didn\u2019t mention any changes to income tax laws in relation to crypto, central bank digital currency or blockchain technology in the union budget on Feb. 1.<\/p>\n<p>There have been numerous developments on crypto regulations by various countries within the G20 in recent times.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, the Australian government released a token mapping consultation paper on Feb. 3, ahead of their plans to release a licensing and custody framework in mid-2023.<\/p>\n<p>The Bank of France\u2019s governor Francois Villeroy de Galhau stated that France shouldn\u2019t wait on EU crypto laws, and instead take action on licensing \u201cas soon as possible,\u201d during a speech in Paris on Jan. 5<\/p>\n<p>Brazil and Argentina are having their own discussions about creating a common digital currency together, in an effort to reduce dependance on the U.S. dollar.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Huang Yiping, a former member of the Monetary Policy Committee at the People\u2019s Bank of China (PBoC), believes that the Chinese government should reconsider its ban on cryptocurrency trading, suggesting it may not be sustainable in the long run.<\/p>\n<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\namzn_assoc_placement = \"adunit0\";\r\namzn_assoc_tracking_id = \"totafreearti-20\";\r\namzn_assoc_ad_mode = \"search\";\r\namzn_assoc_ad_type = \"smart\";\r\namzn_assoc_marketplace = \"amazon\";\r\namzn_assoc_region = \"US\";\r\namzn_assoc_default_search_phrase = \"bitcoin\";\r\namzn_assoc_default_category = \"All\";\r\namzn_assoc_search_bar = \"false\";\r\namzn_assoc_title = \"\";\r\namzn_assoc_rows =\"1\";\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"\/\/z-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/onejs?MarketPlace=US\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/the-world-must-take-a-collective-action-approach-to-regulations-suggests-india-s-finance-minister\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>India\u2019s Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, suggested that regulation \u201ccannot be done\u201d by a single country, it requires an international effort, in a recent television interview.
